One important way to measure a community is by the availability and coordination of healthcare services. Conemaugh Health System (which merged with UPMC Lee Regional) in Johnstown and Miner’s Hospital in Hastings offer an array of service. The American Red Cross too has a long history in Cambria County dating back to the 1889 Johnstown Flood when Clara Barton spent five months in the region with disaster relief. The regional blood center is located in Richland Township.
