Like to golf, perhaps linking a day of business and pleasure? Cambria County has over 25 golf courses, greens ready and waiting for you.

Maybe hunting is your favorite game. Wildlife abounds in our scenic hills. Fourteen game lands give the hunter free access to more than 85,000 acres of prime wildlife habitat.

Perhaps your angle is fishing. Cambria County is in the heart of trout country. We have creeks and streams that make us a fisherman's paradise. There are also plenty of bass, muskellunge, pike, walleyes and pan fish in state park lakes and fish commission impoundments.

If your heart yearns for the slopes, you'll love the area . . . with numerous beginning to professional ski runs. Skiers flock here, particularly from points south and west, such as Washington DC, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. There are three magnificent ski resorts . . . Hidden Valley, Seven Springs, and Blue Knob. Plus fifteen miles of cross country trails in our Laurel Mountains.

If you prefer water to snow, we have plenty of that too. Whitewater rafting and canoeing abound near Johnstown, while sail and powerboats dot numerous lakes and state park water lands in the Laurel Highlands and Southern Alleghenies. Sailing is particularly popular on the 1,760 acres Glendale Lake at Prince Gallitzin State Park.

If you would rather play than exercise, we have ball fields, volleyball courts, ice skating rinks, basketball facilities, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, indoor and outdoor tennis courts for organized leagues or individual play. Ebensburg is the location for the Young Peoples Community Center (an educational recreational facility for the youth) and the North Central Recreation Center (a new multi-use recreation center which includes ice skating) which opened in 2004.
